Camper Trip Planner

Campers are usually a bit smaller than RVs, and most can be attached to a pickup truck or any vehicle capable of towing a large load.  This makes campers very versatile and easy to manage.  They are great for small family trips, but because they are smaller they cannot house as many people as an RV.  Here are some options you might want to consider before you look into buying or renting a camper.  Of course before you make a decision, you should contact a salesman or someone who works specifically with campers.

Camper Trailer

Not all campers are trailers.  Some campers are all ready to go right from the start.  However most people just choose an RV at that point.  Camper trailers are great because they can sit around until you need them and if you need to drive anywhere like the grocery store you can detach the camper and drive to the store.  In Addition to that you wont have to walk every where once you arrive at camp and you might even save on fuel(when driving with the camper as opposed to an RV).

Extensions

Many campers, because they are so small have extensions.  These can range from a simple awning to a tent like room or extra storage.  Campers are really just the basic needs.  A place to sleep, shelter from the weather, a sink and storage.  Camper are made primarily for convenience and easy transportation and storage.

Truck Camper

Truck campers are really the ultimate in convenience.  They are small enough to fit onto the back of most pickups these days yet big enough to have a bed, sink, a stove and storage space.  If you want simple, inexpensive and perfect for any traveler or traveling couple.  Now there isn't much walking space, but why would you be indoors on a camping trip?  Truck campers are only accessible from the rear of the truck, unlike and RV where, at most, a door separates the rooms.  For clarity, truck campers are more like an all purpose room, or a very small house without walls, but if you are planning on camping out for a week or two, they are great.

As For PLanning the Trip

Here is the great thing about campers...  You don't need all that room that an RV takes up.  You can just park it wherever.  So long as the local authorities or land owner approves it.  With RVs you have loads of space, rent etc.  With a camper you can just park it in the woods.  That is if you have a truck camper or something similar.  With larger campers you will need to find the proper grounds to park is.

Where to Go

Any place in the open wilderness is good.  You will want lots of space, so cities are out.  Highways can be your best friend in a lot of instances.  There are sharp turns, more car space, just watch the gas gauge and wind(especially when going over a bridge).
